FOOD WASTE- BIGGEST PROPORTION OF WASTE IN THE WORLD

📢 Did You Know? 🌍
Many people believe plastic waste is the biggest contributor to global waste…
but in reality, the largest portion comes from food waste. 🍃🥘

✅ Around 1.3 billion tons of food are wasted every year worldwide.
That’s more than what we throw away in plastics.
Imagine how many families could have benefited from that food, and how much environmental damage we could have prevented.

Food waste leads to: 🔹 higher greenhouse gas emissions
🔹 wasted water and energy used in food production
🔹 increased landfill volume
🔹 lost economic value

Together, we can make a difference by: 🌱 buying only what we need
🌱 storing food properly
🌱 supporting food sharing programs
🌱 being mindful of leftovers

Every small action counts.
Let’s reduce waste and protect our planet—one meal at a time. 💚🌍
