Your Gmail storage is completely full, and Google want $1.99 a month. Do not pay it. Run these 7 steps and clear it free:

1/ Turn Off Photo Sync First

Do this before you delete anything or you'll lose photos off your phone.
Go to: Google Photos → profile picture → Photos settings → Backup → turn off.
With sync on, deleting from Google Photos wipes it from your phone too. Backup off first.

  • 2/ See What's Eating Your Space
    Go to: https://one.google.com/storage?g1_landing_page=2
Shows how your 15GB is split between Gmail, Drive and Photos. For most people it's Photos or years of email attachments.

  • 3/ Run Google's Hidden Cleanup Tool
Google built a tool that finds your biggest junk, then buried it.
Go to: the same page → tap "Free up account storage."
It puts your biggest emails, trashed photos, spam and huge files into one list. This step alone clears gigabytes.

  • 4/ Delete The Giant Emails
A few huge attachments eat more space than thousands of normal emails.
Go to: Gmail → type larger:10M in the search bar.
It finds every email over 10MB. Old videos, photo dumps, PDFs from years ago. Delete the biggest first.

  • 5/ Empty Spam And Trash
Deleted emails still count against your 15GB until you clear them out.
Gmail → Spam → Delete all spam now.
Gmail → Trash → Empty trash now.
Trash holds emails for 30 days and they're still using your storage the whole time.

  • 6/ Wipe Promotions
Years of newsletters stacking up without you noticing.
Go to: Gmail → Promotions tab → the checkbox at the top → "Select all conversations in Promotions" → Delete.
Then do the same for Social. You haven't opened a single one of them in years.

  • 7/ Clean Photos And Drive
Use Google Photos on the web, not the app.
Photos: delete screenshots, blurry shots and duplicates → then empty the trash. Photos sit in there for 60 days and still use space. Check backup is still off from step 1.
Drive: click Storage on the left, which sorts by size. Delete old downloads and forgotten files, then empty Drive trash or nothing gets freed.
